About: Leigh Felesky is a leader in the digital media industry since 2000 with a track record of building online brands and content packages that increase revenue and traffic. Strong team building skills and ability to work across multi- disciplinary, multi-platform teams.
Leigh works as a social media planner, educator and communication specialist focusing in the online medium. She is currently a Sr. Producer for CBC News working on the tri-media Assignment desk (online, television and radio). Prior to that, she focused on User Generated Content and Web 2.0 while creating Your Voice on CBCNews.ca.
Leigh was the Editorial Director/Managing Editor of Kaboose.com, the third largest US-focused parenting site, now owned by Disney. She built and managed the first-ever Kaboose.com editorial team creating content for five new Kaboose channels, including Health. Leigh has made media appearances on Martha Stewart Living radio, Kaboose TV and The Mom Show. She also lead the new Kaboose community, video, photo and blogging channels.
As an instructor for Ryerson University’s online department, Leigh acts as a mentor to students through internship placement and the second-year course Introduction to Online Journalism (JRN112).
Previous, from 2000-2005, Leigh was the Sr. Editor/Producer for Rogers Media (Chatelaine.com, Todaysparent.com, Macleans.ca, Canadianbusiness.ca and Flare.com), where she received three Rogers Media awards.
